Located centrally within the Noosa Hinterland Pomona provides an excellent playground for the outdoors adventures. Climbing Mt Cooroora is a popular past time for visitors and locals a like. The town also provides many entry points to the Noosa Trail Network. 250 kms of trails through forests connecting the Hinterland towns of Cooroy, Pomona, Kin Kin, Pinbarren and Cooran.
Pomona is a living heritage town with many art deco and early 1900’s architecture. The town comes alive on the weekends with Saturday Markets and weekend warriors climbing, hiking, riding or sightseeing through the Hinterland. Not withstanding the amazing view of he mountain when you enter the town, one of the iconic landmarks to Pomona is the Majestic Theatre – the world’s longest running silent theatre and just down the road is the Noosa Museum which resides in the original Noosa Shire Council chambers.
Pomona was named after “The Goddess of Fruit” and we are now blessed with a selection of café’s and restaurants, a Pub and the Pomona Gin Distillery so that you can enjoy dining to live music and sampling the local produce delights on offer from our region.
